When to Get a Flu Checked Out by a Doctor

When to Get a Flu Checked Out by a Doctor

Whether we like it or not, we are still in the middle of flu season. This means that we can get sick at any time if we are not careful.

You may think that the flu is nothing to worry about. That you only need to “sleep it off” or take a few doses of flu medication. But that is what makes it so dangerous.

How would you know if your flu symptoms need to be brought to a walk-in clinic?

Well, the Above Urgent Care Center is here to talk about some signs that you need to visit your doctor, or even start considering getting an Antibody Test.

  • Breathing difficulty or shortness of breath
Having the flu should not affect your breathing. Difficulty breathing could be a sign of something more serious like pneumonia or other infections.
  • Feeling pain or pressure in your chest or abdomen
Chest pain should not be something you should ignore. Flu has been found to trigger heart attacks, strokes, and asthma attacks in vulnerable people.
  • You keep vomiting
Vomiting prevents your body from keeping itself hydrated. It is also a sign of infections more severe than the common flu. If you find that you are vomiting a lot, make sure to call your doctor and consider getting a PCR test in California.
  • Your symptoms got better, but came back and got worse
Symptoms should not reappear right after they have subsided. If this happens, it may show that you have other infections that need to be checked out.

We hope our tips work. If you need to visit a doctor for your health concerns, or if you need Covid testing in Montclair, California, we’re here for you. Just drop by any time!
